Yesterday was the first day it felt like Fall here in Denver. It was rainy and chilly. The sweaters were out in full force. I made pumpkin soup and baked some biscuits. It was perfect. So of course, I have had Fall clothing on my mind and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of things. I haven’t gone through my cold weather clothes yet (which probably would have been a good idea before I bought more…), but I think all the new additions will work well with what I already have.
I have at least 2 full wardrobes of clothing I wore when I could fit in smaller sizes. There are enormous vacuum bags filled with clothes sitting in the back of my closet waiting for a day when I might fit in them again. I even have clothes packed up at my parent’s home in Florida just waiting for me.
Only half of them get used (Probably less). It’s easy for people to tell me “Well, you should donate the clothing that doesn’t fit.” I feel like unless you’re plus size or have ever experienced some kind of noticeable weight gain, you might not fully understand. I constantly hold onto the thoughts of “but when I lose weight I might want this.” And yeah, keeping staple pieces like denim and button up shirts for the future isn’t the worst thing, but what if I never do?
Madewell has always been the shop of my dreams. Everything about it is so simple, classic, and modern. I fell in love with the brand when I bought a pair of their skinny jeans that seriously never stretch out. I got them on sale and they were still pretty pricy, but they are the best quality denim I’ve ever purchased. My heart still yearns for Madewell and I can’t help but peruse their site every once in a while. You know what they say. You gotta dream big. Consider this no budget Madewell wish list one of my big dreams.
