Birthday Splurge 2016

December 9th was my 23rd birthday! When it comes to celebrating, I like to keep things chill. I’m not into going out or huge, huge parties. B and I had a low-key night filled with pizza, sushi, and Finding Dory, but I spent the morning browsing the mall and having a little birthday spree in Ulta and Sephora. That’s right, it’s time for another birthday splurge post!

I wandered around Ulta for about 45 minutes without seeing anything I really wanted. I know, that sounds insane. I felt like there wasn’t anything that stuck out to me, but there were a couple things I needed. Tony Moly Sheet Masks feel so indulgent even though they’re so budget friendly. My favorite ones are from the Tony Moly I’m Real range and I couldn’t leave Ulta without picking one up. I grabbed the Pumpkin Anti-Aging mask because one year older means stepping up my anti-aging game another notch.

I’m all out of my Origins Plantscription Anti-Aging Lotion, my morning toner, and I’m seriously missing the toning step of my skincare routine. I didn’t realize the benefits to using a toner until I used the Plantscription one and now I’m on the hunt for a gentle and budget friendly morning toner. I’m very new to Derma E as a brand, but I’ve heard great things about their all natural products. They have a couple of toners, but I picked up the Purifying Toner Mist as it’s targeted toward oily skin. It smells delicious and feels incredibly refreshing.

I am running low on my favorite NYX Matte Liquid Liner and thought I’d try something new. I’ve read rave reviews on the Physicians Formula Eye Booster Eyeliner for years and I can’t wait to give it a proper test. Fingers crossed it’s worth the hype!

It’s official. I’m a real beauty blogger now. I own a Beauty Blender. I ended up picking up this cult classic because I’ve never used one before! I haven’t broken into it yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing how it compares to my RealTechniques Complexion Sponge.

I have been lusting after the Nars Dolce Vita Blush for years. I featured it in my Fall High End Beauty Wishlist and I’m happy to check this bad boy off the list. The color is such an amazing shade for bringing life to my complexion. It has a very subtle shimmer in it that makes my skin look so healthy. All in all, it’s a stunner.

Grabbing an invisibobble was a very last second decision. I heard a lot of hype on them a year or two ago, but never saw them in shops. I ended picking up a three pack by the register and I’m excited to give them a try. They do straight up look like a corded phone wire, but I’m obsessed with them. They don’t leave kinks in my hair or give me headaches when my hair is up.

I just started using a beauty blender about a month ago. I never used a sling before because I thought it soaked up too much foundation and it’s a waste of foundation. However, I’ve been turned. The beauty blender is fantastic and does not soak up your foundation. It blends so nicely because of its shape and I quite like it for everyday foundation and concealer because your coverage isn’t as thick and I like that with my current Urban Decay 24 HR waterproof foundation. If I want more coverage or am going out, I still prefer the blush. Also NARS has the most fantastic blushes with fantastic pigment as I’m sure you’ve discovered. They literally last a year or longer so it’s great buy! Happy Birthday and enjoy the holidays!

I just used it 20 minutes ago for the first time and it’s definitely good! I don’t know that I like it more than the RealTechniques sponge, but it was definitely still good! It blended everything very seamlessly. The blush is unreal! The quality is gorgeous.
