Winter time has to be my favorite time for lipstick. Cold weather fashion makes me feel so put together and the perfect finishing touch to any outfit is a complementary lipstick. By cold weather fashion I mean jeans, a sweater, a scruffy anorak, and scarf, but the right lipstick will take me from looking like I rolled out of bed to looking like a put together lady.
I didn’t think I would love the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 48 as much as I do. It’s a brown nude with a little rosiness to it. It works well with either a cool toned or warm toned makeup look and I think it would be flattering on any skin tone. It’s definitely a cream finish, but it’s a little more on the matte side.
I have to include a brighter lip option because every once in a while I get in this mood where I need a traditional wintery lip. I would usually go for something red, but I’ve been loving the Amore Matte Lip Creme in Gorgeous because it’s the perfect mix of fuchsia and red. Plus, the formula is one of the most comfortable liquid lipstick formulas I’ve ever used.
My world has been rocked by MAC Whirl. You all know my favorite nude ever is Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Safe Word, but Whirl is an entirely different nude. A nude for a different mood. It’s a little more deep and moody. In comparison to Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 48, it’s much more of a true browny nude. The formula is matte, but it’s an extremely comfortable matte.
And one more nude for good measure. I’m obsessed with Kat Von D Everlasting Lipstick in Lolita. Honestly, who isn’t? It’s been my go-to nude through Fall and I can see myself wearing it constantly through Winter. It’s a slightly pinkier nude for days when I’m not feeling the 90s vibes of Whirl or Rimmel 48.
