Travel Skincare and Hair Care Bag | Oily Skin.

The idea of traveling without checking my luggage is daunting. Before my trip to New York last month, I had never traveled with just a carry-on. Packing my clothes was a challenge in itself (I’m a textbook over packer who tries not too over pack and always fails.), but packing all my toiletries in 1 quart sized bag? How? I was actually a little stressed about it. Somehow I got my travel skincare and hair care routine down to its bare bones and it all fit! Most importantly, it worked incredibly well for keeping my skin and hair well cared for.

So I might have cheated a little. B has very few skincare products and he had some extra room in his bag where we kept some of the CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser decanted into a travel bottle for the both of us to use. We used the same shampoo and conditioner that he kept in his quart sized bag as well.

Cleanse/Tone/Moisturize

The CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser worked wonders on my stressed skin. I usually break out a lot when traveling and this definitely kept my skin in check. The small amount of salicylic acid offers gentle exfoliation and fights acne. The bets part is how gentle and soothing the cleanser is. It’s full of ceramides that help strengthen your skin and my skin definitely benefited from using it on my trip.

I love a good toner and my favorite one to travel with is the Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic. The travel size lasts forever since it only takes a few drops to do the job. I use it exclusively at night because of the 5% glycolic acid in it, but it’s a necessary step. It essentially renews my skin. My skin always feels fresh and firm after application and looks healthy and glowing in the morning.

I like to use something light on my oily skin in the morning and my current favorite is the Origins Mega Mushroom Advanced Skin Relief Serum. It offers just enough hydration and calms my sensitive skin. I’ve had a mini pump version of this serum for a while and it’s the perfect size for travel. My under eyes are notoriously dry and tired looking after traveling and a couple of late nights so I used a little of the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair for Eyes day and night. The gel formula creates an even level of moisture that hydrates my under eyes and reduces the appearance of fine lines (I have a couple, I swear.).

Remove/Treat

I really only needed the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water when it came to makeup removal, but I brought along some of my Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover just in case. The Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water really does it all. It breaks down all of my face and eye makeup without any problems. It doesn’t irritate or dry out my skin whatsoever. It isn’t the best at removing my CoverGirl Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara, but it does take off my Benefit Roller Lash in one swipe.

Hair Care

I can’t travel without a little bit of dry shampoo. Batiste comes in baby travel sizes and it really came in handy for reviving my second day hair. My go-to heat protector whether I’m traveling or not is the Tresemme Heat Tamer. It’s the only thing I trust to keep my hair from being fried If I’m using curlers or straighteners. For this trip I just poured a little into a travel spray bottle.

I have the same problem, but some airlines are charging a fortune to dispatch the luggage… it does not make any sense… I now have learned but I feel I am somewhat naked without my 10000 products… 🙂

I totally feel you! I really thought I was going to feel like I was missing something, but I ended up loving this scaled down routine!
