I have been looking forward to writing my October Favorites all month. October was a month of loving. Loving beauty products, loving fashion bits, loving myself, and being romantic with B. I haven’t felt this happy in a long time.
Maybe it’s because I’m sweating less (Hell yeah, cooler weather!), but I’m loving using highlighter again. For a soft and subtle glow, I’ll sweep on some Wet n Wild Reserve Your Cabana. I use it for day time looks that need a little something something to take them to the next level. If I’m going all out, I’m using thebalm Mary-Lou Manizer. This stuff is no joke. It’s a stunning and strong champagne shine that gives me the cheekbones I have always wanted.
I’m currently wrapped up in a big comfy robe with tea and my Sonoma Autumn Hayride candle burning. B and I are both extremely sensitive to candles. If the scent is too strong, we both get mega headaches. B loves woodsy scents and I’m more of a vanilla girl so this candle is everything we could ever want. Autumn Hayride is a combination of white clove, cinnamon, vanilla bean, cedar wood and oak moss. It smells like my kind of fall. If you’re a big fan of Bath and Body Works Leaves candle, you’d probably love this. The vanilla makes it a little more of a sweet, woodsy, autumnal scent. I currently have a 3-wick and a single wick burning in the apartment and it smells like Fall.
I have been living in my Vans Perforated Slip-Ons for months now and I don’t know how I haven’t mentioned them yet. I have been wearing Vans since middle school and have always loved the classic slip-on style. I needed all black “fashion sneakers” for work because my Star Wars Vans were not entirely work appropriate (unfortunately) and the Perforated Slip-Ons fit the bill. They were a little stiff at first, but they have now softened to the shape of my foot and are some of the most comfortable shoes I own.
So I didn’t love the first 6 episodes of American Horror Story Roanoke, but live chatting with Merisa of Monogrammed Magnolias every week about each episode has quickly become my favorite weekly tradition. First off, Merisa is an absolute doll with a fantastic blog. She’s always writing such creative posts (This one about her college journal is my current fave.) and she’s just such good people. Each week we text each other about how ridiculous these episodes are and I think we both agree this season of AHS has gotten really, really good (and really, really gory.).
