Exploring CoverGirl.

Exploring-CoverGirl-trublends-blush-in-deep-mauve-and-covergirl-shimmering-sands-eye-shadow-trio-and-wetnwild-eye-brushesAh, the drugstore. Like a Toys R’ Us for beauty enthusiasts. A treasure trove of new discoveries, old classics, and hidden gems. Although I’ve explored much of the drugstore, I fee like there is so much I’ve never ever tried. One of the most iconic budget brands, CoverGirl, feels a bit like uncharted territory to me. I’ve used a bunch of their mascaras and a couple of their base products, but never really anything more. I decided to start exploring CoverGirl full and pick some things I’ve never used before to put to the test. Better late then never, right?

I was so intrigued by the entire CoverGirl truBlends line when it came out last year (Or the year before? Time is flying.), but put off trying most of it. When I spied the display in my local Walgreens way back when, I immediately dove into the truBlend Face Primer for Oily Skin and was immediately disappointed. It left a sour taste in my mouth and kept me from trying the rest. I shouldn’t have put it off so long because I’ve fallen in love with the truBlend Blush in Deep Mauve. I had never used a marbled blush before so the whole concept of pigment and glow combined really appealed to me. It’s just as fantastic as I thought it would be. The soft sheen is subtle, but the mauve tone packs a punch and is the perfect tone for Fall. The pigment is intense so it’s best applied with a duo-fiber brush.

CoverGirl was Buy One Get One 50% on the day I went into Walgreens so I had to get a second product, right? I had just watched an emilynoel83 video that morning (Isn’t she fantastic?) on classic drugstore products and one of them from CoverGirl really caught my eye (no pun intended). The Eye Enhancers trio in 110 Shimmering Sands is a gorgeous collection of neutral shimmer shades that are perfect to use everyday. The lightest shade appears to be a soft metallic pink in the pan, but looks like quite a dramatic silvery white on my lids The taupe in the center is perfect for my inner corner and the soft bronze on the left is great for all over the lid. I haven’t ever used any quads or trios from the brand before, but I’m enjoying the quality and simplicity of it!

Oh my goodness- I have owned time and time again and have used the Shimmering Sands eyeshadow trio for probably 15 years now- it’s such a great low maintenance trio thats super easy to just swipe on!
The blush looks gorgeous- I haven’t tried that one yet.

I had never even heard of it until that video! Everyone in the comments of that video was saying similar things! It has been their go-to for years so I thought there must be something awesome about it.
