A Concealer Cocktail.

I concocted a foundation cocktail a few months ago and it went so well that after not having the best of luck with the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, I thought I’d do some more experimenting. A concealer cocktail, if you will.

My everyday beauty drawer makes me so happy. It’s full of products that get so much love and perform so well, they’ve quite literally reached “Top Shelf” status. Those makeup butterflies seem to immediately drop dead when I look through the other drawers of my makeup collection and see products that are being neglected. For one reason or another, they aren’t my thing and the lay there amongst other products that just don’t quite cut it. Although they aren’t the best, they need love too and this is one of my many steps into making them work for me.

The Problem

I had some very high expectations for the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. I won’t get too far into my gripes with it since I’ve already had a mini rant, but we should go over my main issues with it. It makes my under eye area incredibly dry looking, the finish looks very unnatural, and it doesn’t exactly blend the way I’d like it too. Plus, I’ve been getting some sun recently and I feel like the Light-Medium Neutral shade is currently too light for me.

The Solution

My little container of concealers has a lot of pretty good products, but the stand out is definitely the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer. The finish is seamless and skin-like, the coverage is a natural medium to full, and it works great under the eyes and on the skin. It’s everything I could ask for in a concealer except that it’s currently 2 shades too dark for me. In comes the Naked Skin Concealer.

I like to dot the Naked Skin Concealer close to my inner corner, in the center of my under eye, and toward the end of my lash line. I fill in the gaps in between with dabs of the Better Skin Concealer and gently mix, blend, and pat it all in with my ring fingers. The result is natural and bright without any dryness or creasing. The Better Skin Concealer really give the Naked Skin Concealer new life by adding a hydrating freshness to its finish. They are a winning combo in my book.

I absolutely love the Maybelline Better Skin concealer! I think it’s so much better than a lot of luxury branded concealers out there in terms of coverage and staying power! Might just have to try this cocktail out haha x

Isn’t it the best!? Maybelline just knows how to do concealers. This combo honestly saved my Urban Decay concealer from being wasted and forgotten about.

I love the Urban Decay Naked concealer! Just proves how different products can perform on different people. Haven’t tried Better Skin yet but I’m currently loving IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye. xx Merisa | Monogrammed Magnolias

Yeah! I know a lot of people who love the stuff, but it just doesn’t work for me. Better Skin is the bomb. I do have Bye Bye Under Eye, but haven’t used it much because I don’t thin kI have the right shade. How do you like to apply it?
