Can you believe we’re already talking about August Favorites? Can you believe I’ve kept up with monthly favorites all year (Knock on wood)? August was so good to me. I got to see my family (twice! <3) and got to visit B’s family too. It was Kim’s birthday and B and I’s 5 year anniversary. It was a month full of warm and happy moments and reflecting on it is making me smile all over again.
I have been dying to talk to you all about the CoverGirl Clean Matte BB Cream for Oily Skin. I want to do a thorough review on it , so I won’t ramble on too much, but this has rocked my world. I wear it to work every single day and have even been picking it over my Milani Conceal + Perfect most days and you know I love that stuff (review).
When the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette was released, I didn’t expect to get it. The shades seemed to pink or orange for my taste. The hype wasn’t getting to me…until I wandered into Dillard’s. Dillard’s is one of my favorite places to shop and the one by us has a really amazing beauty shop in it. They carry Anastasia Beverly Hills there and when I saw the palette, I had to swatch it. It was calling to me. I dipped my finger into Primavera, a gorgeous champagne shimmer, and I immediately decided I had to have it. The shadows are definitely out of my comfort zone, but the quality is insane. I’ve been using it all month long and I can’t see myself using something else for a long while.
Insta Stories! Okay, yes, Instagram coming out with what is basically a knock off Snapchat is a huge eye roll. At first I was super annoyed at the whole thing until I realized this could work for us. I do use Snapchat, but I use it to stay in touch with people in my personal life like friends and family. Although I love you very much, there are parts of my life I like to keep private. I’ve been using the Insta Stories feature of my Instagram to share more of my daily life with you all and a bunch of you seem to be enjoying it as much as I am! Some of you have even messaged me on it! It’s been super fun and I’m going to keep it going.
I’m a free woman! Meaning I’m self-hosted now. I feel so satisfied and happy with getting my blog to this point and I don’t know why it took me so long to get here. I’ve always been proud of B&B and now I just feel this overwhelming joy. I’m gushing, but honestly it makes me so happy. Thanks for sticking with me through the transition and for all of your great advice.
