Taking It All Off.

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Waterproof with lavender and white tulips

Makeup removal is a really love/hate thing for me. I love the feeling of taking off my makeup after a long day, but I make an annoying mess most times. My usual night time skincare routine is face wipe, eye makeup remover, cleanser, toner, serum, eye cream, moisturizer. I recently ran out of face wipes and decided instead of repurchasing some of my favorite Neutrogena ones, that I would try to work through some of my other makeup removers. It’s been a bit of a life changing experience.

I picked up the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in waterproof back in December and have been loving it ever since. I squeeze some out onto a large cotton pad and start with my eyes before moving onto the rest of my face. It breaks down waterproof mascara and eyeliner with ease. The waterproof version is a bit of a bi-phase cleanser, but it doesn’t leave my skin oily, greasy, or grubby. This is my makeup removing product of choice when I’m being lazy (most of the time).

Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm open with white and lavender tulips

If I’m not completely exhausted at the end of the day, I’ll remove my makeup with the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm. I scoop a bit on clean fingers and give myself a bit of a facial massage with it. I follow up with warm water and boom. Done. My makeup honestly can’t stand up to this stuff. It’s too good. I have pretty oily skin, but the cleansing balm doesn’t make me any oilier. I have been using it for a couple of months and I haven’t made much of a dent in it. I cherish this pot of magic so much.
