Autumn Travel Makeup Bag.

I feel like packing a trimmed down makeup bag when you’re a makeup enthusiast isn’t always the easiest thing. I’m terrible at predicting what kind of looks I might want to go for ahead of time and usually end up over packing an unruly amount. I recently did some traveling and felt like I actually used everything I brought with me. I love seeing what’s in other people’s travel makeup bags and felt like sharing what was in mine.

I keep all of my products into my Kate Spade Travel Bag. The size of the bag keeps me from over packing and is easily wiped clean if something gets a little spilly.

I need the primer that does it all when I go away and the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Primer fits the bill. The pot it comes in is a little heavy, but it’s worth the extra weight. I don’t usually wear foundation on vacation, but when I do I like it to be long-lasting and natural looking like the It Cosmetics CC Cream. For some brightness under the eye, I’ll swipe on the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and if I have any blemishes, I’ll conceal with the Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin Concealer. To keep it all from slipping and sliding, I set it with the L’Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Powder. The e.lf. Blush Palette in Dark gives me a ton of fall blush options for on the go and it comes with an enormous mirror. For some definition I pull in the NYX HD Blush Taupe and blend that in with the Physician’s Formula Bronze Booster. For a little glow on the cheeks and the eyes, I pull in the Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips in Waikiki Strip.

To fill in my unruly brows, I draw individual hair-like lines with the Anastasia Brow Wiz. The Urban Decay Primer Potion is always in my arsenal for holding onto shadow and in this case, the sparkly shades from the shimmer strips. For long lashes that last, I swipe on the Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof. The Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal is perfect for adding definition at the lash line or tight lining.

I like to have a lot of lip options, but picking 3 main shades makes things easier. A red (MAC Kiss Me Quick Lip Liner and Wet N Wild Cherry Picking), a nude (MAC Soar Lip Liner and Rimmel Oh My Gloss! in Snog) and a statement lip (Wet N Wild Coffee Buzz Lipstick) I’m really feeling at the time all have a home in my travel bag for some variety.

I think I have narrowed my products down pretty well at this point and can easily make little swaps to make this assortment more appropriate for the weather or different occasions. If there’s something you think I’m missing, let me know so I’m even more prepared to take on any trip.

We shall talk soon.
