The “On the Go” Beauty Edit.

The NYX Green Tea Blotting Papers; Stella by Stella Mccartney; L'Oreal Infallible Setting Powder; Too Faced Bumbleberry Lipstick with macarons and tea on a marble table

I’m not a huge touch up girl.  I guess that’s because I have really high expectations of my makeup lasting and looking fresh through out the day.  I don’t usually bring products along with me because a)  I don’t use them and b) they clutter up my hand bag, but recently a couple of beauty heroes have snuck their way into the depths of my purse.

I’ve had these NYX Green Tea Blotting Papers for ages and just never really used them.  I’ve been wearing slightly glowier bases for fall and I think these blotting papers work well for removing oil without removing glow or product.  Speaking of shine, after a good blot I love applying a light dusting of the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Powder.  I haven’t used this since #MarchMatteness and I don’t know why.  This powder is incredible for setting your base without that overly matte, chalky finish.  Perfect for touch ups.

I am obsessed with Too Faced La Creme lipstick in Bumbleberry.  There’s something about this shade that is perfect for every look (See it on here).  It looks incredible with light day time makeup and pulls together a heavy eye look in the evening.  I don’t what it is about this lip product that floats my boat, but I’ll definitely being buying more shades in the future.   When I’m feeling like I need some freshening up, I like to spritz on some of Stella by Stella McCartney.  I love slightly floral scents with amber and this one is just that.  It’s slightly sophisticated and perfect for the season.

I hope I don’t get too carried away with purse products in the future because I can see them taking over my handbag.  I don’t think I’ll find anything I like more than my current picks (LOL I bet in like a week I’ll have half a purse full of stuff.), but I’m going to try to keep it at four products max.  Wish me luck.

We shall talk soon.

oh dear god, I cram stick foundation, powder, lipstick, and blotting paper all into a leather makeup case that goes in my bag where ever I go…my motto is BE PREPARED at all times. What with everybody taking cell phone selfies I need to look my best. And yes, there’s also a hairbrush, a comb, a hair tie, some hair pins in my bag…yeah my bag weighs a ton.

I feel the same way about afternoon touch ups! The only products I carry are the Makeup Forever HD powder, and whatever lippie I’m wearing. I love the HD powder cause it doesn’t build colour or get chalky. Love your post! <3

    Tara,
I have been trolling drugstores and Ulta forever trying to find the perfect blotting paper but somehow had never managed to pick up the NYX blotting papers! I’ll definitely have to give them a try – I have oily skin and when I attempt to blot my nose or chin, my makeup comes off along with the oil! D: Thank you for the recommendation!

Your blog is so lovely and useful – I’m falling in love, I think! I’ll be sure to subscribe to your YouTube channel as well! You are very well-spoken, both on- and off-camera!

Cute makeup look! I really like that lip color in the Rose Blush! I love that the look was created with drug-store products- those are my favorite looks because then most of us beauty-lovers can afford the products used! I think a lot of people underestimate the power of the ‘cheaper’ brands! Keep up the amazing blog x

Thank you! It’s one of my favorite lipsticks. I totally agree. I have a fall drugstore look too (I’m pretty sure) and I love drugstore looks so much. So glam and affordable!

My makeup always holds up so I’ve never felt the need to carry stuff around with me (: Plus I feel like it weighs down my bag. I like the products I’ve ended up with a lot, but I only really use them in case of makeup emergency. Isn’t it gorgeous?
