New In and High-end.

I’ve been going through my makeup stash a lot recently and have realized there’s been a couple high-end products that I haven’t actually shared with you yet.  Today I thought I’d show you them and let you in on my first impressions.

My best friend moved away at the beginning of the month and before she left we went on a little trip to Ulta together.  It was only fitting that we both bought the I Love My Best Friend Set from bareMinerals.  The Original Mineral Veil, the Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 duo in The Magic Touch, and the Marvelous Moxie gloss in Best Friend all come in the that adorable baby pink makeup bag.  I’ve never used a bareMinerals product before, but I’m a total convert.  The mineral veil sets makeup without any cakeyness, the shadows are incredibly pigmented and buttery, and the lipgloss looks gorgeous over nude lips (Plus, it smells scrumptious.).

Speaking of impressive products, let’s talk about the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal for a minute.   I know the Champagne Pop Shimmering Skin Perfector by Jaclyn Hill is all the rage right now, but I haven’t been able to find it anywhere.  My aforementioned best buddy had the highlighter in opal and I’ve seen her wearing it a few times.   Her skin was strobed with one swipe and minimal effort and I was blown away.  That was enough for me to know I wanted to grab one too.  I’ve used this a couple of times and it’s just as good as I thought it would be.  More on that to come.

I *finally* picked up the MAC 217 Brush and I get it.  The hype is real.  See it in action here.  The guy at the MAC counter convinced me (HOW DO THEY DO IT?) that I needed the MAC Brush Cleaner.  I have to say it’s a bit of a let down and I’m annoyed that I have it now, but I guess I’ll find a way to make it work.

I’m usually so skeptical about buying high-end/prestige makeup so I’m not sure what got into me when I made all these purchases, but I ended up with some real gems.  I think after this I’m going to look more into bareMinerals because that pouch was full of fantastic products and I’m intrigued.  If you have any bareMinerals recommendations, let me know so I can get my splurge on.

We shall talk soon!

That highlighter is gorgeous! I need to try it! In terms of BareMinerals recommendations, their complexion rescue tinted moisturiser is amazing 🙂

I have Champagne Pop and its gorgeous but on my fair skin its almost too dark for me. It more of a “epic” blush with my skin. So I ordered Moonstone and I cannot wait until it gets here. You’re darker complexion would look hella good with Champagne Pop. If you can find it get it!

Moonstone is gorgeous! I think champagne pop would like banging on my skin if I could only find it! I know they have it online, but I’m wary of buying it because a lot of people’s have broken in transit. Hopefully I come across it one day (:

Ordering online was the only way I could get mine. I live in northern Alberta so everything gets shipped and it arrived in one piece. Sephora packs their parcels well. At least that’s been my experience.
