Hey there bow friends,
As I’ve mentioned about a million times before, I have spent the last month or so moving. Moving means almost all makeup free days, but every once in a while I find a reason to play with some new products. I recently noticed that a variety of NYX products have found their way into my makeup bag and I thought we could do a little round up review of them all. Plus I’ve worn them all together so you can see them in action!
Let’s work from the top down. I barely ever stray away from my regular brow routine, but this NYX Tinted Brow Mascara in Black has become my go to for really quick makeup. Despite being called black, it’s definitely a cool toned, dark brown. My eyebrows don’t need a crazy amount of filling in, but this product fills in sparse areas just by tinting them and it keeps my brows tamed. But what’s going on underneath those brows? Essentially nothing. I used the ever so hyped up NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt and it blended away into a shimmery nothing. I’ve seen it used on much fairer people and it looks incredible on them so I won’t lie, I had high expectations. The shimmery wash was kind of decent and so I just put on some mascara and went on with my day, but then I was betrayed. I don’t ever have eye products crease on me, but umm. Crease city. And it even creased with primer underneath.
I’ve been yearning for the NYX High Definition Blush in Taupe for quite some time now and my little heart wasn’t let down. This blush can create a subtle or dramatic contour with absolute ease. Occasionally, I have added a little too much, but the product blends into the skin with minimal effort. If you’re a drugstore contour junkie, you might want to stick this one on your list. Since we talked about contour, let’s talk about a little blush/highlight combo. The NYX Blush in Terracotta was an unexpected choice for me. I’m a huge fan of matte blushes and this blush screams golden shimmer and sheen. It’s hard to blend, but when it does, it blends to a warm, peachy shade with a golden glow. The glow is subtle, but I could see it being good for daytime.
You all know how much I love a bold lip and the NYX High Voltage lipstick in Twisted doesn’t disappoint. This purply fuchsia shade is incredibly pigmented and leaves behind a slightly more pink looking stain. The formula is comfortably creamy and wears away evenly over time. Plus, it smells like marshmallows!
All in all, I think I found some winners (and one sad let down). I hope you guys found these mini reviews helpful. I love when people do brand focuses and was really pumped when I realized I could do one too. If there’s another brand or product you’d like to have a chat about, let me know! I am loving getting back into the blogging groove and I’m even dragging B into it. Some time very soon there will be another Bites with Beau post and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it.
We shall talk soon!
