Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipstick.

Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipsticks in berry-light/medium and nude - light/medium

Remember how much I loved the Revlon Lip Butters? Well, 3 years later Almay is giving them a run for their money. And I think they’ve made the perfect everyday lippie.

The Almay Smart Shade Butter Kiss Lipsticks are a permanent range of tinted lip butters that are meant to be simple for you to pick shades from. There are designated nudes, pinks, berries, and red shades for light, light/medium, and deep skin tones. I think this is a fantastic idea that makes picking out a new lip color simple, but to be fair I didn’t pick any of the colors designated for my skin color. I know the sorts of berries and nudes that suit me by now, but the ones for deep skin tones weren’t quite right. The suggested shade matches are great, but do give them all a peruse. Every shade is beautiful.

As far as a comparison to the Revlon Lip Butters go, the packaging is almost exactly the same, the color range is on the more natural end of the spectrum, and the formula is less pigmented and more balmy. They smell softly of chocolate and are perfect for sticking in your backpack or purse.

I ended up picking up the shades in  50 berry – light/medium and 70 nude – light/medium. The berry shade is a soft, buildable berry that warms up my natural lip color. The comfortable formula allows for the berry shade to wear evenly.

My favorite shade of the two is the nude light/medium shade. I’m crazy about it. It’s my ideal 90s nude. It’s a subtle, moody color that pulls together any more natural makeup look.  I love wearing it over the Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in Spice for a fuller lip look. It’s much more pigmented than the berry shade and I tend to get more use out of it.

So what do you think of them? I might invest in some more of the berry or red shades.  I wasn’t sure about them at first, but after seeing how fantastic these shades are I won’t think twice about it.

I hope you’re all having a fantastic day!  I’m heading to Playlist Live this weekend.  I’m super pumped. By the way! Don’t forget to enter my Valentine’s day giveaway ending the 14th!

We shall talk soon.

Loved this review! I actually just posted a balm review on the Kiss my Honey lip balm! Perhaps it could be a great primer for your new lippies you’ve tried by Almay! I’ll be checking those out as well! That nude has me all in my feelings!!!

Isn’t it? I absolutely love them and how fantastic they look when I’m done up or even when I’m wearing 0 makeup. Let me know which ones you get! (:
