Hey there, bow friends!
I know. I took another Tara break. It always seems to happen at this time every semester. I also took a month off of monthly favorites in February because I didn’t have very many favorites and thought I’d save them for a little combo favorites this month. Because I’ve done a lot of cool things these last couple of months, I’m going to include some memories as favorites in a separate post of non-beauty favorites.
First things first, I thought I should address the odd product out. A couple months back my parents asked if I needed anything for my mini apartment at school. I was in dire need of some body wash and my dad, knowing my love for avocados, picked out this Olay Body Wash in Avocado Oil and Soothing Cucumber. I usually love fruity scents and was nervous about using this, but oh man. It smells slightly fruity and clean. I’m not a huge fan of cucumber body care, but this isn’t overwhelmingly cucmbery. I love how soft and moisturized it makes my skin even before I slather on lotion. It’s lovely.
The rest of my favorites are all based around my current favorite look – bronze and nude. Let’s start with perfecting the skin. My favorite new step has been mixing in an illuminator with my primer. Because of my super oily skin, I’ve been loving the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. Not only is it affordable, but it is amazing. The consistency is creamy and feels more like a semi-thick moisturizer. When I use this, I put 2-3 drops of the Revlon Photoready Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light. The combo keeps my skin from being shiny, but allows my skin to look like, well, skin. Healthy and glowing. A new weapon in my skin perfecting arsenal is the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NW25. This stuff is amazing. The coverage is incredible., it doesn’t crease, it applies easily, and it comes with a pump. I’ve been using this under eyes and all over any scarred or red areas. The hype is real. Buy it now.
Now something I haven’t exactly shared with you all much is my new (pricy) love for palettes, especially the Lorac Pro Palette. I haven’t come across such pigmented and buttery shadows in ages. I’ll go all into my love for it another day, but I wanted to show you guys my two favorite shades so far. The gold shade and the light bronze shade are my go-to for a brightening, “bronze goddess” kind of look. I’ve actually been wearing one of these shades all over my lid or in my inner corner and using some of whatever bronzer I’m wearing that day in the crease. Super easy.
With a slightly bronzey look going on, I like to stick to a warming highlighter. TheBalm’s Betty-Lou Manizer is perfect for highlighting my cheek bones, but in a way that complements my skintone. I find that the Mary-Lou Manizer is too light for my complexion and kind of makes my skin look like plastic. Betty-Lou warms my skin and makes it look like I’ve got some kind of summery glow going on. Warning: this stuff is pigmented. Dangerously so. I usually tap off and pat some on the back of my hand.
And to finish it off, the L’oreal Extraordinaire Lip Color in Blushing Harmony. It’s a pinky mauve shade that softens the lips and keeps them hydrated. This is a perfect nude for me that doesn’t wash out my skintone. I need this product in every color. Well, want. Nah, need.
Phew. I feel like I’ve been writing forever. I just have so much stuff to share with you guys and I’ve had little to no time. Now that summer is coming up, I’ll get back in the groove with you all because I miss my little space on the internet and I miss connecting with all of you. This week is going to be full of posts and a little surprise at the end of the week. Get excited!
We shall talk soon!
