January Favorites and Giveaway Winner Announcement!

Hey there, bow friends!

I know.  We are literally half way through February and I’m posting a favorites post.  Not such a great start to being committed to my favorites, but I will get one up every month.  It’s my destiny.  Anyways, let’s get on with the favorites!

Revlon Lip Butter in Watermelon; Maybelline COlorsensational Lipstick in Brazen Berry; Real Techniques Powder Brush; Real Techniques Expert Face Brush; Physician's Formula Happy Booster in Warm; Lush Dark Yellow Colour Supplement; MorrocanOil Treatment; Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eyeliner; Wet Brush; Korres Jasmine Body Butter.

So I’ve been obsessed with two completely different lip colors.  The Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon had made a comeback!  I threw it on for a Lunar New Year Event and man.  I forgot how much I loved the formula and awesome pigmentation.  If you’ve been keeping up with B&B this month, you’d know I’ve been loving purple lips like the Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Brazen Berry.  This shade is such a flattering, bright, spring time shade that fits the barely-there-makeup and neon lip trend perfectly.  I’ve been wearing it constantly.

Powder Brush; Expert Face Brush. Two brushes too?!  I must be really into pairs.  The Real Techniques Powder Brush and Expert Face Brush have found permanent places in my heart.  If you keep up with my recent purchases on my Luvocracy page, you’ll know I wasn’t completely impressed with the powder brush to begin with.  After I washed it with the Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soap (I love the hemp rose one, by the way.) it turned into what is probably one of the softest brushes I own.  I don’t use it for setting makeup as I like to push powder on when I’m setting everything (I’ll use the Real Techniques Buffing Brush instead), but I love it for all over finishing powder as well as all over bronzing.  The expert face brush is such a great density and size for pushing and buffing foundation into the skin.  I love it so much, I even bought another one to use for cream blush.  It is that good.

Happy Booster in Warm; Dark Yellow Color Supplement; Morrocan Oil; Eye TEch Extreme Liquid Eyeliner; Wet Brush

Now, I won’t go on about this too much because I mentioned it in my 2013 favorites, but I still can’t get enough of my MorrocanOil Treatment.  It honestly makes my ends so healthy, keeps my hair incredibly shiny, and  helps enhance my hair’s natural wave and curl.  Speaking of curl, the Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eyeliner is a champion against a pair of eyelash curlers.  I find that with other liquid or gel liners, when I curl my lashes it takes off some of my liner, which means I have to re-line.  Blah.  But I love this liner for so much more than that.  The lasting power, the pigmentation, and the thin point are all impeccable.  Thanks to this little beauty, I’m back in love with a good cat eye.  Just can’t get enough.

Want a nice rosy flush for spring (LOL GOOD ONE TARA WHAT IS SPRING?)?In comes the Physician’s Formula Happy Booster in Warm.  I’ve never tried anything from Physician’s Formula and I got a great first impression of the brand from this product.  There’s one little corally red heart amongst larger, light mauve hearts and glittery baby pink ones too.  Blended together they create a beautiful, healthy flush.  I was looking to an alternative to heavy foundation to use everyday and one thing I’ve fallen in love with is the Dark Yellow Colour Supplement by Lush.  The pigmentation is incredible and I think the yellow tone really suits my skin.  It leaves a natural finish to my skin and has a pretty decent lasting power when set.  Plus, I think my skin loves it.  It’s awesome.

This has been a long one so let me make these last two quick.  I’m still loving the wet brush.  Here is why.  And the Korres Jasmine Body Butter?  Holy.  So moisturizing.  Such a nice relaxing sent and completely non-greasy.  I’m in love.  But more on that another day.  Just know I love it.

And now for the moment you have all been waiting for!  Drum roll please! The lucky winner is…  Skylar Smiles!  Congrats on your win!  I’m so excited for you!  Please email me as soon as you can so I can send you your awesome V-day gift!  Thank you all for entering.  I hope you’re having a great day.  Stay warm and do something for a loved one.  I dare you.

Alright everyone!  We shall talk soon.  Happy Valentine’s Day!

Awesome post! So is the Lush Colour Supplement used as a concealer/highlighter or as foundation? Or does it depend on the color you get?
    Thanks! -Lesley

I’d say it depends on the color. I don’t really ever use concealer to highlight, but I think if you got a lighter shade that could work. The packaging says “Multi-purpose base color for darker skin types with predominantly yellow tones.” So they work toward different skintones. I use it as foundation somedays and concealer under mineral makeup other days. It’s really versatile. Some people even mix it in with their moisturizer.

Don’t you just love the Lush Color Tint?? I fell in love with it, so great. Have you tired the Feeling Younger highlighter, or Charisma (bronzer)? They are excellent as well!!

I do! It’s beautiful. I haven’t tried the others because I hae highlighters and bronzers I really love already. I’m trying not to buy everything haha.

I use the exact same Physician’s Formula blush and I love it!! It’s so pretty that it puts me in a good mood just opening the compact, never mind it’s “happy boosting” formula 🙂

Love how dark that eyeliner is! Never would’ve crossed my mind to pick up Milani brand. Thanks! I use Stila’s black liquid liner but its quite expensive. So excited that this could be an awesome alternative.

It’s actually pretty incredible and I’ve heard it’s comparable to the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner. You should totally try this one out and let me know what you think of it.
