Winter Nail Picks.

Hey there, bow friends!

When I was titling this I was so tempted to write Fall/Winter picks, but I guess it’s winter now, isn’t it? I mean, it’s a frosty 81 degrees out today so break out the mittens and tea.  I was thinking I’d share some of what I have been wearing on my nails the most and maybe later on toward Christmas I’ll do a glitzier nail post.  Let’s focus on the present though, let’s crack on.

Essie e-nuf is e-nuf; Catrice Genius in the Bottle;Spoiled by Wet N Wild Slumming on Sunset; Revlon Seductive.Slumming on Sunset; Seductive; E-nuf is E-nuf.

Slumming On Sunset is a shade in the Spoiled range by Wet n Wild.  I picked up this polish from CVS one night when I was looking for a good red to match my Snow White costume.  I wanted something cheap with a warm, rich, deep shade.  You can see my problem here.  Most of the polishes I found under $3 were shimmery, iridescent, or just a really unflattering red.  And then I found the spoiled display.  At $1.99, I feel like you’re getting much more for your dollar.  The color is a deep, candy apple red that had a pretty decent wear time.  I didn’t see any chips until 4 or 5 days after application.  An all in all winner.

I’ve been loving Essie’s e-nuf is e-nuf all of 2013.  It’s my favorite shade of pinky red and somehow I feel like it translates well into winter.  It’s like a soft, muted cranberry or cherry that I’ve discovered looks wonderful on all skin tones.  And, bonus, the new formula lasts about 5 to 7 days on me.

Catrice’s Genius In The Bottle is not new to B&B.  It’s actually a product from one of my earliest posts.  It’s one of the coolest polishes I’ve ever owned.  It’s a gold duochrome color that tends to come off green, blue, or red.  It’s a great dupe for Chanel Peridot except that it’s a tad warmer.  I think it’s a really interesting shade to wear.  It’s got a little more punch that makes me choose it over other metallic golds or silvers.  If you can get your hands on this, go for it.

Revlon’s Seductive is a shade I have contemplated buying since early October.  It’s a part of their Evening Opulence collection that featured a lot of deep, fall colors.   Eventually I gave in and went for it because it’s just such an interesting shade.  From looking at the bottle you can tell it’s one of those so-dark-it-looks-black shades, which happen to be some of my favorites for fall and winter.  It’s a deep purple that I think comes out looking like the shade in the bottle after only 2 coats.  This has incredible wear time.  I applied this the 21st of last month and didn’t experience any chipping until the 1st of this month.  Tell me how.  Revlon has used some voodoo magic to make this polish so perfect.  Definitely give it a try.

What are you all wearing on your nails this season?  I know I’ve got some stereotypically fall shades here, but does anyone have any recommendations for a good nude or other color I haven’t mentioned?  I hope you all have been doing well.  It’s finals time here.  It’s getting stressful.  I can’t wait for break.  Good luck on all your finals, papers, and tests!

We shall talk soon!

Love wearing Genius In The Bottle. It’s not a new polish in Catrice’s range – i think i even have the one in the old packaging – but it’s a polish that i tend to reach for all year around. But especially during winter it goes so well with copper, brown & bronze clothing items. 🙂
    Nice overall pick dear.

I just picked up Essie’s “Toggle to the Top” nail polish last week and I’m really loving it! It’s a gorgeous crimson/red with glitter so I feel extra festive with it on now.

That “E-nuf is E-nuf” polish looks so pretty though! I could see myself wearing it year round for sure!

Well. I’ve never heard of Toggle to the Top so I just had myself a little google search. It’s absolutely gorgeous and I am dying to get my hands on it!

You totally should! It’s an awesome shade.

I had no idea! ): It isn’t a local brand (I got it whilst on holiday in Germany) so I was unaware. That’s so sucky! There are plenty of similar colors now in the American drugstore though from Maybelline and Loreal.

Having the right color of nail polish for any event is crucial, although many overlook the necessity. Depending on whether you are going on a bar tour, holiday party, or to a family’s house for the holidays you have to have the right color of nail polish on your nails. It needs to enhance your outfit, but not take it over. This is a great post on what colors to look out for for the holiday season. Although colors are always in and out of style, there are a few that are timeless and will enhance any outfit. Thanks for sharing your recommendations, I’ll be sure to look for them next time I’m at the store!
