Origins Haul.

Hey there, bow friends!

I’ve just moved back to school, so I’ve been a little behind on the blogging, but I thought I’d get this haul up.  I bought a few goodies from Origins about a month and half ago when my skin was at its worst this summer.  I’ve heard a lot of fantastic things about Origins skin care and was prepared to shell out the money for it when there was an offer where you got the full size GinZing eye cream for free.  Talk about a fantastic freebie.

Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser; Origins GinZing Eye cream.

Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser – I have quite oily skin.  Not exactly breaking news.  I was finding that in the summer heat my skin felt so..clogged up.  I wasn’t breaking out a lot, but my skin’s texture and overall look was unappealing.  I bought this cleanser to use with my Clarisonic a la  Kate (gh0stparties).  Whoa.  In my June Favorites I said the magic combo transformed my skin and I meant it.  My skin doesn’t get as oily, but doesn’t feel as if it’s being stripped either.  It contains Saw Palmetto, Mint, and Salicylic Acid that are all meant to clear out your pores and clear your complexion.  I’ve never been so impressed with a cleanser before.  Since I’ve been using this cleanser I only experience hormonal break outs and even then they’re nothing major.  I’d say if you have acne prone or oily skin, give this a go.  I will say that it has a strong scent to it.  I actually kind of like the tingly plant smell now, but before it drove me nuts.  Just something to keep in mind.

Zero Oil Mattifier – Can you spy the trend here?  Keeping oil at bay is one of my number one priorities.  I thought this mattifier would be something great to have in my arsenal.  I read a lot of reviews and they were a bit hit and miss, but I took the risk anyways.  The packaging is hard to manage (in fact I think I just broke it while trying to get a good look at it) and when it dries after being applied it has a grainy texture.  I don’t mind the texture it gives so much because it’s undetectable.  It does control oil for a decent amount of time, but it isn’t something I think I would necessarily need.  Every once in a while I’ll dot some on my nose or chin just for back up if I’m feeling like a grease ball that day, but it isn’t something I’d repurchase.

Eye Cream Swatch

GinZing Eye Cream – Ahh, the star of the show.  This is a little pot of magic.  It’s meant to do the basic jobs of an eye cream as well as brighten the under eye area and help puffy eyes.  I’m queen of staying up late but still waking up early without enough sleep.  Although I don’t get terribly puffy eyes, I do see some dark circles every once in a while.  The eye cream itself is a peachy tone, which helps cancel out some of the darkness.  There is slight iridescence and almost a fine shimmer that helps illuminate your eyes and make them appear more awake.  I know that probably sounds like a fairy just..burps magic glitter onto your eyes, but, yeah.  It’s that magical.  I can go without makeup if I use this eye cream in the morning.  It makes you look more awake almost immediately and I can tell that it’s improved the texture of the skin too.  A little goes a long way with this so I think it will last an extremely long time.  I would totally repurchase this in a heart beat.

And that was that.  Although it was a tiny group of products, they are some of the main components to my current skin care routine.   Speaking of which, would you like to see that?  I’m actually in a good skin place and would totally be up for sharing what I slather on my face.

Alright guys, have a good rest of your week!  We shall talk soon.

-Tara Joy ❤

PS Origins tweeted me earlier about how they were glad I took advantage of their cool offers and I thought, “Whoa, what? How do words work?”  So I thought I’d include a link to the offer for the free GinZing Eye Cream and the awesome deals Origins has in general. So go for it.  Yeah, I’m enabling you to go buy stuff.  Treat yo self.

Oh girl, it’s like you wrote this especially for me! My skin has always been a bit on the oily side but this summer it’s like the Exxon-Valdez spilled on my face. Woof!
I’ll have to check out the Zero Oil Deep Pore Cleanser the next time I’m at Sephora (assuming they have it there!) because it sounds like it did wonders for you and I need ALL the help I can get right now.
    Heheh thanks for sharing! 🙂

Hahaha! I’m glad you found this helpful! I think they do sell Origins at Sephora? We only have a tiny Sephora in JcPenney’s here in my town so I’m not positive. Origins online is perfect too because there are always codes for free shipping and free products! I don’t use it every day, more like 5 out of the 7 days of the week. I use a gentler facial cleanser to give my skin a little break, but this isn’t necessarily super harsh or something. I hope you really like. It works well with something like a Clarisonic or a face scrubbing pad.

I really do want a clarisonic now! It seems like everyone and their momma has one but me these days!
Hah is it too early to start writing my Christmas wish list?

Never too early! I used a facial scrubbing pad and I still use one a few times a week to this day. I got my Clarisonic for my birthday and it is definitely worth it. A real skin savior.

Glad to see you back and blogging, I definitely missed seeing your posts come up on my dashboard! I’ve also heard some great things about Origins products but I’ve only ever tried one of their moisturizers, but it ended up being too moisturizing for my combo skin, so now I use it on my chest and the backs of my hands haha

Aww! This comment just made my day. I’m glad to be back. I’m nervous to try one of their moisturizers for that reason. Good idea though so it doesn’t go to waste!

I keep seeing this eye cream and wondering whether to buy it (I’m like the goldilocks of eye creams) but after seeing your review think I’ll put this on my next wish list 🙂
