Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick Review.

Maybelline Color Sensational VividsHey there, bowies!

I’ve been waiting to post this for ages, but you know, life gets in the way.  And by life I mean lack of sleep and lots of tests.  Let’s get cracking.

I’ve had these beauties for ages.  I only have 2 out of the 10 that were in this collection and wouldn’t mind exploring some of the other shades especially at $5.50 a piece.  I’ve got them in Pink Pop and Hot Plum.  I love the bright neon packaging.  It makes it super easy to find these in my handbag and when they are amongst my other lipsticks. Besides the color, the tubes are plastic and nothing fancy.  Very basic.  The lipsticks themselves have a little plasticy faux vanilla scent which is typical of many drugstore lipsticks.  The formulation of both lipsticks is extremely creamy as well as incredibly pigmented.  The finish is somewhat satin and glides on with no problems.

Pink Pop and Hot Plum

Pink Pop; Hot Plum.

The shade I was most eager to try was Pink Pop.  I really love paler shades these days as I think they make a bold statement.  I’ve never been super into nude shades, so a daring lip isn’t necessarily outside of my realm.  The shade isn’t entirely too pale.  It’s definitely lightly blue based.  I absolutely love this lippy.  It’s so girly pink which isn’t something I’m used to. So stunning. I am still struggling to figure out ways to wear it, but in time.   I have nothing like it either so it was definitely welcome to my collection.

Hot Plum is a shade I was automatically drawn to.  I honestly didn’t realize how similar it was to Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop (reviewed and swatched here)…except it’s a different, more opaque formula and contains no sparkle.  It’s absolutely stunning.  The color is a blue based, bright plummy one that offers a little warmth and pow to any look.

And that my friends, is that!  I love this range and am really interested in grabbing more.  When I find a look that I’m confident about using these I’ll definitely share it with you!

I’m feeling rather crummy and am having another stressful week, but hopefully that eases up.  I hope you’re having a great week though!

We shall talk again soon!

I love your blog, I found it through wordpress, which recomended it to me. My blog is called bluecucubersblog.wordpress.com

Anyways, I love the hot plum one, unfortunetly, my skin is to pale for anything that bright, but it looks great on you!

Aww thank you! And thanks for letting me know! There’s been a massive flood of people becoming a part of beausandbows and I’m so curious as to how. I’ll have a look!

I love it too! I actually think bright shades of fuschia and magenta are gorgeous on pale skin tones! Maybe experiment a bit and try and find one that works (:
