Things I Regret Purchasing.

Hey there, bow friends!

Over the weekend I was trying to eliminate the clutter that had developed in my product organizer (that’s what I’ll call it!) and realized how many products were there that I don’t even use or enjoy.  This made me take a peek into my make up and beauty tools as well.  So I rounded them all up and thought  that I might let you know so you are a little more conscious of what you’re spending your hard earned bills on.

May I say, that these products may work for you or may be some of your favorites, but my mini reviews are all based on my opinion. Please don’t take offense! If you have any input on any of these products please do put it in the comments below! I’d love to know how they work for you.

So let’s get on with it, shall we?

  • Neutrogena Ageless Restoratives Anti-Oxidant Cream – $18.00  Someone tell me why I paid this much for this product.   I have oily skin and thought this might be a good light weight way to moisturize before a snooze.  Well after quite a few uses, I realized just how greasy it felt.  I would crawl into bed and not want to put my face on my pillow.  Yuck.
  • Sei Bella Kabuki Brush –  My parents buy products from a company called Melaleuca which I absolutely love.  They have a line of make up that I constantly stare at when their catalogs come in the mail.  Along with their make up is a line of brushes.  I had never owned a kabuki brush and so Mother Bow got it for me as a part of a gift.  Sadly..it just isn’t for me. I was using it to buff out and apply my Nicole Miller (a part of an old line from Melaleuca) bronzer.  The bristles aren’t soft even after a few washes and it has awful bristle fall out.
  • Biore Nourish Moisture Lotion SPF 15 – $8.97 I had heard a lot of good things about Biore skin care products so I took the leap and tried some moisturizer.  I found that this too was quite greasy despite the fact that it claimed to be oil-free.  I took a peak at the Biore website and apparently it has been discontinued.  If that doesn’t say something, I don’t know what will.
  • Olay Soothing Cucumber Body Lotion – $4.19 This isn’t my favorite lotion for one reason – it isn’t as moisturizing as my other Olay body lotion.  It really isn’t the best for my skin.
  • Lancome Definicils Mascara – Full Size $26.00 I got this as a free sample with the purchase of one of my favorite blushes.  I love the formula, but the wand doesn’t do much for my lashes.  I really thought I’d love it since I usually love Lancome mascaras.
  • E.L.F. Professional Bronzing Brush – $1.00 I bought this with the intention of using it to apply my highlighter.  The brush is soft, but the bristles do shed a ton and I don’t feel like it picks up product well or applies product well.  I usually love E.L.F. brushes so I was kind of disappointed.  I’m determined to make it work.
  • Biore Triple Action Astringent – $7.49 I wanted a good astringent and read awesome reviews on this one.  So I understand that it’s an acne treatment, and I truthfully don’t mind the burny, stinging feeling, but I don’t actually feel like it did much.  I also think it dried out my skin a bit.  Apparently Biore updated the formula and the packaging of this product now.
  • Tresemme Fresh Star Dry Shampoo – $3.00 I got the travel size of this because I adore using dry shampoo and thought an on the go dry shampoo would solve all my problems.  The product claims to be for fine and oily hair.  I do have oily hair, but I’m also a brunette.  I found that this dry shampoo left an awful white cast on my hair which is just not desirable.  It might work better for people with blond hair or lighter brown hair.
  • Hard Candy Moon Glow Luminizing Powder in 288 Luminizing – $8.00 I mentioned this in my Daily Make Up Products post (which I believe already needs some updating!) and even then it wasn’t my favorite.  I find that this doesn’t necessarily highlight, but looks white with some fine glitter.  It also goes on a bit chalky and powder which brings attention to any dry patches I might have.  Bummer.

Phew.  And that is that. I hope you found this helpful in someway and I also hope I didn’t offend anyone!  Have an opinion on one of these products?  Let me know! I’d love to know what you think.

Have a lovely rest of your week and I’ll talk to you all very soon, I promise!
